Rhapsody Reaches 1 Million U.S. Subscribers
Digital music service Rhapsody has surpassed 1 million paying U.S. subscribers, making it the most popular subscription service in the country, according to a Yahoo News report. While Rhapsody's total paying subscribers had remained at 800,000 for several years, the company attributes several recent developments to the boost, including availability on Android mobile phones and Facebook integration and Rhapsody's October acquisition of Napster and its subscribers. Rhapsody continues to face competition from rising U.S. music services such as Spotify. (12/22)
