Report: One-Third Of Consumers Use Streaming Services
According to a report from Music Industry Blog, nearly one-third of consumers in 25 countries use a music streaming service. The report revealed that adoption of music streaming services among people ages 16–24 is 46 percent, followed by consumers aged 25–34 (39 percent), 35–44 (35 percent) and 45–54 (31 percent). Additionally, the report found that small markets such as Norway and Sweden were outpacing large markets such as the United States and the United Kingdom in adoption rates. (7/10) 

Spin Sold To Buzzmedia
Spin Media, the parent company of Spin magazine, has been sold to music/celebrity website conglomerate Buzzmedia. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, as part of the transaction Buzzmedia will acquire Spin's print publication, website, live event business, and iPad app. According to the report, Buzzmedia plans to expand Spin's digital staff and therefore expand its reach online. Layoffs At EMI Music Publishing
Following a Sony-led consortium's recent acquisition of EMI Music Publishing, approximately seven of EMI's senior publishing executives have left the company, including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Roger Faxon, according to Billboard.biz. Sony has let go an additional 30–40 employees, and is expected to cut more than 300 positions over the next two years, as reported in April. (7/10)
