Live and recorded music spending in the UK represented 0.29 percent of consumers' total expenditures in 2010, down from 0.38 percent in1997, according to Will Page, chief economist at PRS for Music. While total non-inflation adjusted spending on music has remained stable since 2000 at $4.5 billion, live music spending has grown since 1997, while recorded music spending has dropped approximately 52 percent since its peak in 2003.
