Though U.S. album sales declined overall for 2010, rap sales totaled 27.3 million units, a 3 percent increase compared to 2009, accounting for 8.3 percent of all album sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Eminem's Recovery was the top-selling album of the year with 3.4 million units, while other top sellers in the genre included Drake's Thank Me Later (1.27 million), Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (882,000), Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday (852,000), and Lil Wayne's Rebirth (710,000) and I Am Not A Human Being (664,000). Latin music sales in the United States totaled 12.3 million units for the 52 weeks ending Jan. 2, a 26.8 percent decline compared to 2009, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Digital albums sales increased 28 percent to 917,000 units, and the top-selling Latin digital song of the year was Shakira's "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)," moving 867,000 units.
