Peter Edge Named RCA CEO, Corson Upped To COO
Sony Music Entertainment CEO Doug Morris announced that Peter Edge has been named CEO of RCA Music Group. Edge, former president of A&R for RMG, will report to Morris and oversee the day-to-day operations of the group and its labels, which include RCA, Jive, J, and Arista, as well as their affiliate labels. Additionally, Tom Corson has been promoted to president and COO of the company. Corson, formerly RMG executive vice president and general manager, will report to Edge and oversee promotion, marketing, publicity, digital, sales, international, video, and operations for the label group. Bieber, Swift Win Big At Teen Choice Awards
GRAMMY-nominated artist Justin Bieber and GRAMMY winner Taylor Swift were among the big winners at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 7. Bieber garnered four awards, including Choice Music Male Artist and Choice Male Hottie, and Swift took home five awards, including Choice Music Female Artist, Choice Music Female Country Artist and Choice Music Country Single for "Mean." Additional artists garnering awards included Eminem, Selena Gomez, Lady Antebellum, Jennifer Lopez, Bruno Mars, Paramore, and Keith Urban, among others. (8/8)
