Perry Makes Billboard Hot 100 History
GRAMMY-nominated artist Katy Perry became the first artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to spend 52 consecutive weeks in the top 10, with her current single "E.T." featuring Kanye West descending to No. 2 on this week's chart following five weeks at No. 1. Perry began her record-setting streak in May 2010 when "California Gurls" debuted at No. 2. Two additional singles, "Teenage Dream" and "Firework," also charted in the top 10. Ace Of Base previously held the record, spending 48 consecutive weeks in the top 10 from 1993–1994 with "All That She Wants," "The Sign" and "Don't Turn Around." (5/13)
