Paisley Wins Entertainer Of The Year
Three-time GRAMMY winner Brad Paisley won the Entertainer of the Year award at the 44th Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 10. Miranda Lambert garnered three awards, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Revolution and Music Video of the Year for "The House That Built Me." Other artists taking home awards included Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Sugarland, and the Zac Brown Band. In related country music news, for the first time since November 2007 the top three spots on the Billboard 200 are inhabited by country music artists, with Taylor Swift's Speak Now at No. 1, Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party at No. 2 and Sugarland's The Incredible Machine at No. 3. The artists topping the chart in November 2007 were Carrie Underwood, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Gary Allan. (11/11)

WMG Completes Roadrunner Acquisition
Warner Music Group
has completed its acquisition of Roadrunner Records, following an initial purchase of 74 percent of the label in 2007. Roadrunner will continue its operations as a distinct brand within WMG, with label founder Cees Wessels remaining as CEO. Staff changes at Roadrunner's corporate headquarters in the Netherlands are imminent and a number of support and administrative roles are expected to be filled by WMG, according to Billboard.biz.
