Overall album sales this week totaled 4.89 million units, down 8 percent from last week. ASCAP Honors Coldplay, Taio Cruz

received Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year honors for their GRAMMY-winning track "Viva La Vida" at the 30th Annual ASCAP Awards on Oct. 13 in London. R&B artist Taio Cruz received the Vanguard Award in recognition of his debut album Departure. Also taking home awards were Phil Collins, Def Leppard and Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Imogen Heap, AC/DC's Brian Johnson, and Paul McCartney. (10/14)

Sirius XM Radio Triples Growth In 3Q
Sirius XM Radio
reported the addition of 334,727 net subscribers during the third quarter of 2010, more than triple the subscriber gain of 102,295 in the year-ago quarter. The company has added close to 1.1 million net subscribers for the first three quarters of the year, compared to a loss of 488,126 subscribers during the same period in 2009, and ended the third quarter with a record high of more than 19.86 million subscribers.
