ITunes U Hits 300 Million Downloads
Apple's online educational catalog iTunes U has topped 300 million downloads since its inception three years ago, according to Apple. More than 800 universities worldwide, including Harvard, MIT and Oxford operate active iTunes U sites making content such as lab demonstrations, sports highlights, campus tours, and lectures available for free public download. All iTunes U content is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. (8/24)

Wyclef Jean To Appeal Haiti Elections Board
After declaring his candidacy for the Haitian presidency earlier this month, Wyclef Jean is preparing to appeal to Haiti's elections board after it rejected the GRAMMY winner's candidacy on Aug. 20, on what has become the presumed basis that he did not meet residency guidelines, which require that presidential candidates live in the country for five consecutive years leading up to the election. Jimi Hendrix Exhibit To Open In London
The Handel House Museum in London, home of both the late German composer George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix, will honor Hendrix with an exhibit showcasing his London years, including clothing, film clips, recordings, and handwritten lyrics. The exhibit will run from Aug. 25 through Nov. 7 and will give visitors the opportunity to tour rooms in which Hendrix once lived. (8/24)
