ITunes Revenue Up 55 Percent In 2011
Revenue from Apple's global iTunes sales, including music, video and apps, totaled $6 billion in 2011, up 55 percent from approximately $4.2 billion last year, according to Billboard.biz. During the fiscal first quarter ending Dec. 31, iTunes revenue totaled $1.7 billion, and its catalog grew to 20 million songs. (1/26)

Chesney Leads ACM Awards Nominees
Nominations for the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were announced today with current 54th GRAMMY nominee Kenny Chesney receiving nine nominations, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Hemingway's Whiskey. Current GRAMMY nominee Jason Aldean earned six nominations, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for My Kinda Party. Additional artists garnering multiple nominations were Eli Young Band, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Grace Potter, and Taylor Swift. The awards will take place April 1 in Las Vegas.
