Haun, Herms, Ingram Lead Dove Awards Nods
The first round of 41st annual Dove Awards nominations was announced with producer Bernie Herms in the lead with eight nominations, followed by Wayne Haun and Jason Ingram with seven. Other artists receiving nods include recent GRAMMY winner Jason Crabb, GRAMMY winner Jars Of Clay, Skillet, and Matt Maher with six nominations each. The Dove Awards will take place April 21 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn. (2/19)

Facebook Takes No. 2 Spot On Web
Facebook
has surpassed Yahoo as the second most-visited Web site in the U.S., according to reports from Web analytics firm Compete. The social network attracted 134 million unique visitors in January, with users spending 11.6 percent of their Internet time on the site, while Yahoo's traffic declined to 132 million. Google remains the number one Web site attracting 147 million unique visitors during the same month. (2/19)

Guvera Music Service To Launch Stateside
Australian-based Guvera will launch its music service in the United States on March 30. The ad-supported music download site will offer at first only 100,000 users free downloads paid for by brands, matching its users with appropriate brands based on preferences for music, movies, vacation locales, and similar reference points. The company has also announced licensing deals with BMI, the Harry Fox Agency, INgrooves, and SESAC. (2/19)
