The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast generated a record 13 million comments on Facebook and Twitter, a more than 2,000 percent increase compared to last year, according to social TV analytics company Bluefin Labs. Online social activity tracker Trendrr reported 17.2 million Facebook and Twitter comments during the 54th GRAMMY telecast, a 495 percent increase compared to last year and slightly behind the 17.49 million comments generated during Super Bowl XLVI on Feb. 5. In related GRAMMY news, independent labels represented 34 GRAMMY wins at the annual awards show, an increase compared to last year, according to the American Association of Independent Music. Indie artists garnering awards included Best New Artist Bon Iver (Jagjaguwar), Chick Corea (Concord Music Group), Alison Krauss (Rounder Records), and Taylor Swift (Big Machine Records). (2/14)

Blues Museum To Open In St. Louis
The first U.S. national blues museum will open in St. Louis next year, according to a Reuters report. The National Blues Museum, which will be built with private donations, is part of the effort to revitalize the St. Louis riverfront. An 11-day Bluesweek celebration that will help support the museum is scheduled to take place in May, featuring a three-day Memorial Day weekend concert. (2/14)
