GRAMMY Glam Squad: Everyday Beauty Tools

(The Recording Academy has formed the GRAMMY Glam Squad, a diverse group of online influencers who will lead the discussion on beauty, fashion and lifestyle during GRAMMY Week in February 2012. Are you on your beauty game 24/7? I'm sure you are, but in case you need a little extra help, the following are everyday beauty tools every girl should have in their handbag:

A mini straightening iron:

Welcome to the world of my forehead. I have a widow's peak and a cowslip, which basically results in my hair quite literally bouncing off my head. Thankfully, you will never have to witness this yourself because I always carry my mini straightening iron with the attachment for crimpers to "pimp the crimp." Create the perfect look for a day or night out.

Lipstick:

Sometimes the only thing I like about what someone has to say is their lipstick. They may not make any sense, but if they are wearing a sweet color on their lips it makes it all OK. My favorite for the red-carpet/hot date/dancing in the living room on your own is a pink gloss. My personal staple is Dior. More power to the pout

Liquid eyeliner:

Liquid eyeliner is your friend. I am sure you never go to work feeling exhausted or groggy (sarcasm) but, theoretically, if you did, then this would be your savior. My liquid eyeliner not only accentuates my eyes but adds instant style. With one clever bit of liquid I can whip up a '50s look, channel the '60s, embrace the '80s, or go forth into the future to 2070. It's simple, small and light. This becomes key as my handbag is invariably a clutch. Red carpets simply don't call for over-the-shoulder bags.

Rose water:

You know how some say that humans are an average of 72.8 percent water? Well, I think Beyoncé, Rihanna and Katy Perry are 72.8 percent rose water! On a serious note, rose water not only smells lovely, it's chemical-free, good for the skin and a acts as a natural toner and moisturizer. I also dab it on my wrists for a light and refreshing scent.
