Every celebrity red-carpet interview experience is different, but one thing that will never change is the preparations celebrities go through to get ready for their red-carpet appearance. Getting red-carpet-ready is as important as your red-carpet pose. In my opinion, the unsung heroes of red-carpet style are often the subtle yet important illuminated skin, detoxified system and sculpted body.
In order to prepare for this year's 55th GRAMMY Awards I decided to get red-carpet ready, celebrity-style! If I wanted to aim for skin as clear as Rihanna's or a body like Taylor Swift, then a detox was definitely a sensible option.
I started my detox with a juice cleanse, which meant I had six juices per day that where packed with natural nutrients such as kale, chlorophyll and lemon. I intook as many calories as I would eating three regular meals a day; the only difference was it was easier for my body to break the juices down and they were so rich in nutrients. I have to admit the first two days where hard, but by day three I was into the groove and could feel the detox working. At first, you may experience a breakout, but this is just part of the detox. When you get three or four days in, you feel absolutely incredible and your skin will start to glow.
Celebrity friends tell me that perfect combo for a juice detox is massage and acupuncture, so that was my second port-of-call. I was pleasantly surprised by acupuncture, as it wasn’t very painful at all. The massage was absolute bliss and definitely my favorite part of getting red-carpet ready.
Finally, I wanted to know what celebrities do to sculpt and tone before their red-carpet moment. One option is the Pure Barre technique, a ballet-inspired workout routine that sculpts the body using small (but very intense and tricky) movements. The first class was hard, but paired with the juice cleanse, I got through the first hurdle.
Now all I have to do is get my red-carpet pose right!
