Gaga Earns Record 13 MTV VMA Nods
Nominations for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards were announced today with GRAMMY-winning artist Lady Gaga receiving a record-breaking 13 nominations including Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, and Best Dance Music Video for "Bad Romance," among others. GRAMMY winner Eminem leads all nominated male artists with eight nominations including Video of the Year and Best Male Video for "Not Afraid." Hip-hop artist B.o.B. received five nods for "Nothin' On You," Ke$ha garnered three for "Tik Tok" and Justin Bieber received his first nomination for Best New Artist. The 2010 VMAs will air live from Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sept. 12. (8/4)

"Idol" Leaves Sony, Signs With UMG
19 Entertainment and creator Simon Fuller will move their "American Idol" franchise to Universal Music Group's Interscope Geffen A&M label, ending a nine-year marketing and distribution deal with Sony Music Entertainment. The deal will take effect for the 10th season of "American Idol" beginning in January 2011. (8/4)
