FMC Offers Musician Health Insurance Survey
The Future of Music Coalition is offering musicians, songwriters and composers the opportunity to participate in "Taking The Pulse," a survey designed to assess the level of health insurance among working musicians. Open until April 1, the survey includes questions regarding access to health insurance, factors impeding insurance coverage, and plans offered by unions and professional organizations. The survey follows a 2002 FMC online health insurance survey, which found 44 percent of respondents did not have insurance coverage. Click here to take the survey. (3/23)

Broadway Theater Named In Honor Of Stephen Sondheim
The Henry Miller's Theatre in New York has been renamed the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, in honor of the GRAMMY-winning composer's 80th birthday. The announcement was made by Sondheim collaborators James Lapine and John Weidman on March 22 at a gala performance of "Sondheim On Sondheim," a Broadway musical celebrating Sondheim's career. The theater, which initially opened in 1918, reopened last September after undergoing major reconstruction. (3/23)
