EMI Bids Slow

EMI Bids Slow
Following a report in June on the potential sale of EMI Music, and another report regarding first-round bids for the company in July, EMI will not conduct a formal third round of bidding with a deadline, according to a Billboard.biz report. The company has asked its bidders, which include BMG, Ronald O. Perelman, chairman and CEO of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc., Sony Corporation, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group, to adjust their bids or resubmit them to address specific issues. If EMI is purchased, the company's publishing and recorded music divisions will likely be sold separately, according to sources reported by Billboard.biz. (10/18)
