A recent survey conducted by European market research institute Media Control found digital downloads to be the dominating format for single purchases in Germany accounting for 85 percent of sales, France (89 percent), Austria (73 percent), Belgium (93 percent), the Netherlands and Spain (92 percent), and Switzerland (99 percent). BMG Acquires Adage
BMG Rights Management has acquired the catalog of music publisher Adage IV with more than 500 titles, according to CEO Hartwig Masuch. The catalog contains recordings from artists including GRAMMY winners Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, Faith Hill, John Mayer, Joni Mitchell, and Rob Thomas, among others. Financial details about the deal were not disclosed. (6/4)

Radio Forecast Up For 2010
Research firm BIA/Kelsey has revised their radio forecast for 2010 with a more than 2 percent increase, up from their March estimation of 1.5, based on the medium's first-quarter performance as reported by radio groups and other sources, according to Billboard.biz. First-quarter spending on radio advertising grew 7.4 percent, according to figures released earlier this week from Kantar Media. (6/4)
