Digital Album Sales Slump In 2010
According to a recent Billboard analysis of Nielsen SoundScan data, digital album sales have showed consecutive declines for the first time ever during the first three quarters of 2010, following seven years of strong growth. Sales were down 5 percent in the first quarter of 2010, 7 percent in second quarter and 3 percent in third quarter. Collectively, digital album sales are up 12 percent for the year through Oct. 24. Fergie Named Billboard Woman Of The Year
Billboard announced GRAMMY-winning Black Eyed Peas vocalist Fergie will be the recipient of its Woman of the Year Award on Dec. 2 in New York at the 2010 Billboard Women In Music event, celebrating the most powerful and talented women in the music business. The event will be held in conjunction with Billboard's upcoming Women In Music Power Players issue. (10/28)

Brooks, Yearwood To Benefit Nashville
GRAMMY winner Garth Brooks has announced that he, along with his wife, GRAMMY winner Trisha Yearwood, will stage a concert to benefit victims affected by the Middle Tennessee floods that took place in early May. The benefit will be held on Dec. 17 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and proceeds will go toward the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, which provides grants to support flood victims.
