Nominations for the 2011 BET Awards were announced yesterday with GRAMMY-nominated artist Chris Brown in the lead with six nominations, including Best Male R&B Artist, the Viewers' Choice Award and Best Collaboration for "Look At Me Now," featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne, and "Deuces," featuring Kevin McCall and Tyga. GRAMMY-winning artist Lil Wayne followed with five nominations, including Best Male Hip Hop Artist. Also receiving four nods each were Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West. The awards will take place on June 26 in Los Angeles. In related news, Jason Derulo, Lady Gaga and producer/songwriter J.R. Rotem were named BMI Pop Songwriters of the Year at the 59th Annual BMI Pop Music Awards on May 17 in Los Angeles. Producer/songwriter David Foster received the BMI Icon award and Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" was named Pop Song of the Year. In more awards news, Neil Diamond will receive the 2011 Billboard Icon Award when the Billboard Music Awards take place on May 22 in Las Vegas. (5/18)
