have been named Billboard's top touring artist of 2010, with gross revenue of $146.5 million and attendance of more than 1.5 million across 69 concerts. Rounding out the top five were U2 ($131 million), AC/DC ($122.6 million), Lady Gaga ($116.2 million), and the Black Eyed Peas ($81.6 million). Figures were compiled from Boxscore data reported from Nov. 28, 2009, to Nov. 20, 2010. (12/10)

UK's HMV Reports Loss
British music and book seller HMV Group reported a $65 million loss for the six-month period ending Oct. 23, up from the $39 million loss reported for the same period last year. Total sales for the six-month period were down 16 percent compared to the same period last year and due in part to the declining sales of CDs and DVDs, according to Digital Music News. (12/10)

ITunes Launches 90-Second Song Previews
Apple
's iTunes has started rolling out 90-second song samples for tracks in its catalog, an upgrade from the standard 30-second preview. While Apple has yet to update its entire iTunes catalog, per the company's agreement with record labels, iTunes will stream 90-second samples for all songs that are at least 2.5 minutes in length.
