, the Berlin-based joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., has agreed to acquire UK-based independent publisher Chrysalis Group for $168.6 million, according to a Billboard.biz report. The Chrysalis catalog includes songs by Blondie, David Bowie, Sheryl Crow, Cee Lo Green, and Michael Jackson, among others. The move follows previous acquisitions by BMG, including Adage IV, Cherry Lane Music Publishing and Stage Three Music. (11/29)

GRAMMY winners the Black Eyed Peas will be the featured performers during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6, 2011, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. More than 106 million viewers watched last year's Super Bowl, which featured a halftime performance by the Who. Other musical acts playing recent Super Bowl halftime shows include Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, and U2. (11/29)
