Bids Are High For Warner Music

According to a recent Billboard.biz report, Warner Music Group's Warner/Chappell publishing division has received bids from more than five companies interested in purchasing the company, including Access Industries, BMG Rights Management, Platinum Equity, Sony Music Entertainment, and the Yucaipa Companies. All bids, with the exception of BMG, exceeded the minimum during the first round of bidding, according to the report. The bids have reportedly ranged from $1.4 to $2 billion. Billboard.biz also reports that WMG's music division is getting more bids than analysts expected, though no information on the number or size of the bids was revealed. (3/9)
