Bacharach, David To Be Honored With Gershwin Prize
GRAMMY-winning songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David will become the fourth recipients of the Library of Congress' Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, a lifetime achievement award recognizing artists for their contributions to pop music. Bacharach and David will be honored at a ceremony hosted by President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama on May 9 at the White House. The ceremony will include tribute performances by GRAMMY winners Sheryl Crow, Diana Krall and Lyle Lovett, among others. Previous award recipients include Paul McCartney, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder. (5/7)
