Azoff Joins Clear Channel Board
Live Nation Executive Chairman Irving Azoff has been appointed to the board of directors for global media and entertainment company Clear Channel Communications Inc. Azoff, who is chairman and CEO of Front Line Management and artist manager for Christina Aguilera, Neil Diamond, Eagles, Steely Dan, and Van Halen, replaces Kent Weldon, who resigned from his position on the board today. Brendel Honored At Gramophone Awards
Ten-time GRAMMY-nominated pianist Alfred Brendel was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Gramophone Awards 2010, on Oct. 1 in London. The Recording of the Year prize went to the Cardinall's Musick for William Byrd's "Infelix Ego," and American mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato received Artist of the Year honors. Other artists receiving awards included Marin Alsop, Sol Gabetta and André Rieu, among others. The awards were voted on by a panel of critics from Gramophone magazine. (10/4)
