Austrian Music Revenue Drops Slightly In 2009
The Austrian recorded music market generated revenue of $248 million in 2009, a 1.6 percent decline from the year prior, and unit sales of physical albums, digital downloads and bundles increased 3 percent to 22.1 million units. The digital market experienced a 39 percent revenue increase to $22 million with 600,000 consumers paying for legal downloads in 2009, a 50 percent increase from 2008. In contrast, physical album revenue declined 6 percent to $222 million and sales dropped 6 percent to 12.2 million units. (3/3)
