ASCAP To Honor Trent Reznor
GRAMMY winner Trent Reznor will be honored by ASCAP with the Golden Note Award, which recognizes a composer or artist who has achieved "significant career milestones," at the 29th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards on April 18 in Los Angeles. GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter Carly Simon will be honored with the ASCAP Founders Award. Previous Golden Note Award recipients include Elton John, Quincy Jones, Tom Petty, and Lionel Richie. Vevo, Yahoo Ink Syndication Deal
Content from music video service Vevo, a joint venture between Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Abu Dhabi Media Company, will now be streamed through a branded video player on Yahoo Music, according to a Billboard.biz report. The partnership went live on Wednesday, adding to Vevo’s other syndication partners, including AOL, Facebook, YouTube, and others. Additional Vevo content will be streamed on additional Yahoo properties in the coming months. (3/22)
Sony To Name New CEO?
Current Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton is expected to be named CEO of Sony Corporation of America on April 1, according to a Billboard.biz report. Sony Corporation is the parent company of Sony Music Entertainment and Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which means Sony Music CEO Doug Morris and Sony/ATV Chairman Martin Bandier will likely report to Lynton following his appointment.
