APRA, AMCOS Report Record Revenues
The Australasian Performing Right Association and sister rights body the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society reported a record fiscal year for the 12 months ending June 30, with a combined revenue of $240 million, up 8 percent from the previous year. APRA's revenue reached $183 million, due in part to a 50 percent increase in digital revenue, while AMCOS reported a 15 percent increase in gross revenue to $57 million and a 67 percent rise in digital download sales. Despite the increase in digital sales, AMCOS reported a 20 percent decrease in physical product sales to $5.4 million. (11/29)
