reported quarterly revenue of $28.27 billion and a net profit of $6.62 billion for the fourth quarter ending Sept. 24, up from $20.34 billion in revenue and a $4.31 billion profit from the year-ago quarter, but below analysts' revenue expectations of $29.4 billion. Sales of iPhones reached 17.07 million, a 21 percent growth compared to the year-ago quarter but down from the 20.3 million sold during the third quarter, and iPad sales totaled 11.12 million, a 166 percent increase compared to the year-ago quarter. The company also sold 6.62 million iPods, a 27 percent decline from last year. (10/19)

Susan Davenport Austin Named BMI Chairman
BMI
has named Susan Davenport Austin chairman of the board of directors, succeeding Jack Sander, who has been elected presiding director. Austin first joined BMI's board of directors in 2007 and previously served as vice chair of the board. She becomes the first woman and first African-American elected to serve as chairman. (10/19)
