Apple Acquires Quattro Wireless
Apple has acquired mobile advertising company Quattro Wireless for $275 million, according to an Ars Technica report. As part of the transaction, Quattro CEO Andrew Miller has been named Apple's new vice president of mobile advertising. Quattro Wireless, whose network includes various mobile-based Web sites and applications for Apple's iPhone and Google's Android platform, is a competitor to AdMob, a company acquired by Google in November for $750 million. Snow Patrol Lands UK's Top Song Of The Decade
Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" (2006) was the most-played song of the decade in the UK across radio, TV and Web formats, according to UK-based music licensing body PPL. Shine was the only artist to have two songs in the top 10 with "Take That" (2006) at No. 2 and "Rule The World" (2007) at No. 6. Rounding out the top five were Scissor Sisters' "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" (2006), the Feeling's "Love It When You Call" (2005), and Sugababes' "About You Now" (2007). (1/5)
