Adele Tops UK Indie Music Awards Nominees
Nominations for the UK's inaugural AIM Independent Music Awards were announced today with GRAMMY winner Adele in the lead with nominations for Best "Difficult" Second Album for 21 and the PPL Award for Most Played Independent Act. Additional artists garnering nominations include Arctic Monkeys, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, GRAMMY-nominated group Vampire Weekend, and the xx, among others. As previously announced, Domino Recording Company founder Laurence Bell and GRAMMY-nominated artist Björk will receive the Pioneer Award and Outstanding Contribution to Music Award, respectively. The awards will take place Nov. 10 in London. (10/13)

Rhapsody's David Krinsky Headed To Google
David Krinsky
, former general manager of label relations and business development for music subscription service Rhapsody, is heading to Google, according to a Digital Music News report. Details on Krinsky's new role at Google were not disclosed, but given his extensive experience in working with record labels, it's possible he could be involved with the company's recently launched cloud-based music service, Music Beta by Google. BET Hip Hop Awards Scores Record 4.1 Million Viewers
The BET Hip Hop Awards 2011 drew 4.1 million viewers on Oct. 11, the awards show's most-watched telecast since it launched in 2006, according to Billboard.biz. Performances included Big Sean, DMX, Lupe Fiasco, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, and T.I., among others, and Chris Brown was the top winner, taking home four awards. (10/13)
