EMusic Adds UMG Catalog, Updates Pricing
Universal Music Group has licensed 250,000 non-frontline tracks to eMusic that will be available beginning in November for U.S. subscribers. Concurrent with the acquisition of the UMG catalog is a new flexible pricing structure that will discontinue eMusic's track credit program and instead offer a majority of albums individually priced from $5.19 to $8.99, with single track prices ranging from 49 cents to 89 cents. EMusic has existing license deals with Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group. (10/12)
