52nd GRAMMY Awards Earns Two Emmy Nods
The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards received two Emmy nominations during today's official nominations announcement for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards. The 52nd GRAMMY telecast earned nods for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety or Music Series or Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special. The Emmys will take place Aug. 29 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles. (7/8)

Album Sales Down In First Half Of 2010
Overall album sales, including digital track equivalents, were down 8.2 percent to 213.7 million units for the first six months of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan. CD sales decreased 17.9 percent to 110.3 million, while digital album sales increased 12.7 percent to 42.2 million, compared to the same period in 2009. Universal Music Group led with a 30.3 percent market share in U.S. album sales, and Sony Music Entertainment ranked second with a 27.8 percent share. (7/8)

Sirius XM Radio Reports Subscriber Base Increase
Sirius XM Radio announced the addition of more than 583,000 net subscribers in the second quarter of 2010, compared to a loss of 186,000 subscribers during the same period in 2009. The company added approximately 755,000 net subscribers during the first half of 2010, compared to a loss of more than 590,000 subscribers in the first half of 2009. Sirius XM's total subscriber base has reached more than 19.5 million, an increase of more than 1.1 million since June 30, 2009. (7/8)
